Find the right cruise for you!

  1. Research the different state room offerings for each cruise line. Many have virtual tours, and you will learn so much as well as get a good sense of the space. Besides that, it’s fun to see all the different ship styles!

  2. If you can spend a little more, you can opt for a balcony room or a mini suite. Both will give you ample space to move about the cabin.

  3. Check the weight restrictions and activity levels for shore excursions and book activities that are suitable for you!

*This is so important! Always good to be prepared!

  4. Pack clothing that is comfortable and flexible, comfort first! And yes, pack a swimsuit!

*You may have one or two formal nights but most cruise lines are moving towards chic evening attire. Always check the cruise line’s website to be sure.

  5. Bring clothing that can be layered, as the temperature on the ship and at ports of call may vary.

  6. Pack any necessary medical equipment, such as a CPAP machine or mobility aids.

  7. Consider purchasing travel insurance that covers medical emergencies.

*Cruise lines offer their own insurance, or you can book third party.

  8. Communicate with the cruise staff about any needs or concerns you have during the trip.

*Cruise staff are incredible and will do everything they can do accommodate and be all inclusive. It’s one of the best things about cruising!

  9. Try to be proactive about staying healthy during the cruise by staying hydrated, getting enough rest, and participating in activities that you feel comfortable doing.

    * Fun fact: You can bring your own water bottle and the water on the ships is delicious and safe to drink!

  10. Remember that everyone has the right to enjoy their vacation, regardless of size. Don't let anything hold you back from experiencing all that a cruise has to offer!
